Kyrgyzstan has signed a contract for the supply of 100 million kWh of electricity from Kazakhstan
Almaty. January 6. Silkroadnews - Kyrgyz OJSC “Electric stations” signed a contract with Ekibastuz GRES for electricity supply, KyrTAG reports.
“The delivery volume is 100 million kWh at a price of 10.88 Tenge per kWh. At the same time the efforts are strengthened on the diagnostics and analysis of the equipment at all hydroelectric and thermal power stations. The import shall begin if necessary. At present our capabilities cover all the electricity demand in the country”, the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan reported on Tuesday.
Earlier, on December 23 and 28, 2015, the emergency shutdowns took place at hydroelectric units ГА2 and ГА3 at the Toktogul HPP caused by the worn cable lines operated for almost 40 years with an expiration term of 20-25 years.
More than 20 professionals are working at the site of the accident in Toktogul twenty-four-hour, besides the Russian experts are also involved to mitigate the accident. The hydroelectric power stations located below operate with the increased capacity. The completion of the first phase of repair work is scheduled for January 15, 2016.
Temir Sariev, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, assured there shall be no restrictions in the supply of electricity and if necessary Kyrgyzstan will import energy from Kazakhstan.
