Kyrgyzstan hosts 1st World Games of Nomads

Cholpon-Ata. September 9. Silkroadnews - Cholponata on the shores of Issyk-Kul on September 9 opened the first World Games of Nomads, reports KyrTAG.
Kyrgyzstan has received the right to host the first World Games of Nomads in their country, as this unique etno sport and tourism project was proposed by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev and received the support of the Turkic Council.
Participating countries - Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Russia, the Arab region.
Their participation in the games confirmed sports teams from Azerbaijan, Austria, Afghanistan, Belarus, Brazil, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Mongolia, USA, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Sweden, South Korea and Russia, as well as Hungary and South Africa. Total expected the participation of 350 athletes.
At the opening ceremony, which will be held at the Hippodrome in Cholponata expected more than 7 thousand spectators.
More than 200 journalists will cover the event. The program of the World Games of Nomads will be competitions in 9 sports such as Kok-Boru, Toguzkorgol, Kyrgyzkuroshu, Alysh, Oodarysh, At-chabysh, Zhorgo-salysh, Kunanchabysh, Ordo, Kiz-Kuumai.
Admission to all cultural and sports activities of the World Games of Nomads is free.
The main objectives of the World Games of Nomads are to strengthen regional integration, unity of Turkic countries and giving a significant impetus to the development of ideology, based on the traditions of their ancestors and the generality of the nomadic culture for the peoples of the world.
