Kyrgyzstan leads the list of the EEU states in terms of GDP growth rates
Almaty. March 9. Silkroadnews – In terms of GDP growth Kyrgyzstan is the leader among the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Tatiana Valovaya, Member of the Board for the Eurasian Economic Commission, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics, stated, KyrTAG writes.
“In 2016 the EEU’s total gross domestic product fell, but despite this, Kyrgyzstan managed to achieve a 3.5% growth. According to our forecasts, a high rate at the level of 3.6% is also expected to remain for 2017”, T. Valovaya said at the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
She also emphasized, almost a half of the investments Kyrgyzstan received in 2016 were generated from the EEU countries.
“The volume of investments from the EEU states increased from 10% in 2012 to 36.7% in 2015, and then to 48.2% in 2016. Almost a half of the investments Kyrgyzstan got in 2016 came from the EEU states”, the official said.
T. Valovaya also noted the high energy potential of Kyrgyzstan and said that in 2019 it is planned to build a single electric power market on the territory of the integration association.
