Kyrgyzstan MPs propose to introduce a moratorium on the importation of all vehicles
Almaty. November 21. Silkroadnews - parliament deputies Irina Karamushkina proposes to introduce a temporary moratorium on the importation of cars in Kyrgyzstan, reports KyrTAG.
"I propose to impose a temporary moratorium on the importation of all vehicles, at least for a period of six months. Currently, the government proposes to ban the importation of right-hand drive cars, but it would be better to ban the import of all cars at a time", - says I.Karamushkina, at a meeting of the Social Democratic Party on Friday.
The MP believes that the country's growing number of road accidents involving both RHD and LHD cars.
"And this is a consequence of the fact that Kyrgyzstan has increased the number of old cars. Kyrgyzstan is filled with the old machines, so we should impose a temporary moratorium on the importation", - she repeated.
Deputy Erkin Sakebaev supported the initiative of his colleague and called the old car "junk".
