Almaty. May 18. Silkroadnews – Activists of Kyrgyzstan are going to restore the ancient Turkic writing, KyrTAG reports.

In Istanbul the public foundation “Kөchmөn” and Turkish organization “Türk Dili Derneği” signed a cooperation agreement, under which it is planned to popularize the ancient Kyrgyz writing in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, it is planned to release a training literature and conduct training seminars for all interested people. The activists say the initiative major purpose is to preserve the history of their ancestors.

According to the head of “Kөchmөn” fund Ulan Usoyun, Kyrgyzstan is not the only country actively exploring the ancient Turkic writing.

“Having decoded the stone inscriptions by the ancient Turks, our Turkish colleague Eleri Bitikchi compiled a modern alphabet of the forgotten writing - Bitik. Just in few years, the organization “Türk Dili Derneği Bitik” trained more than 10 thousand people. In Turkey such initiatives are supported at the state level,” Ulan Usoyun said.

The first inscriptions made in ancient Kyrgyz language are related to the III century AD. The stones described the courses of wars, paid a tribute to the memory of commanders or left the marks denoting the territory.
