Kyrgyzstan ratified agreement with Russia on assistance in joining Eurasian Economic Union

Almaty. December 29. Silkroadnews - President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed the law “On ratification of protocol on amendments and additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation on rendering technical assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic as a part of process of accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, dated March 31, 2015, signed on February 28, 2017, in Bishkek”, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reported.
The law was passed by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on November 22, 2017.
The purpose of the protocol is to ensure implementation of activities provided by the protocol on conditions and transitional provisions on the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union dated May 29, 2014, some international agreements covered by the Eurasian Economic Union law and acts of agencies of the Eurasian Economic Union to be applied by the Kyrgyz Republic due to joining the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union dated May 29, 2014, signed on May 8, 2015, and ratified by the law of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 21, 2015.
The protocol provides for amendments and additions to a number of articles of the Agreement on Technical Assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic as a part of process of joining the Eurasian Economic Union, signed on March 31, 2015, on funding of activities related to modernization of Kyrgyz checkpoints in the Kyrgyz sections of the EEU borders within the framework of implementation of the road map, as well as regarding the extension of the time limits for bringing the checkpoints in accordance with the uniform requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The law enters into force ten days after the day of its official publication.
