Almaty. May 26. Silkroadnews – The deputies of the Kyrgyz parliament have approved the bill on amendments to the Civil Procedure Code and the law “On Countering Extremist Activity” providing for tougher measures in the fight against extremism and terrorism, KyrTAG informs.

As the parliament representatives report, the draft law provides for expedited blocking of web-sites hosting the extremism and terrorism ideas. At the same time the terms for the courts consideration of the prosecutors’ regulations on blocking such sites will be reduced to three to five days, though earlier this procedure took a few weeks or even months.

“The amendments shall formally come into force as soon as approved by the president of Kyrgyzstan,” the parliament representatives note.

Kyrgyzstan’s law enforcement agencies report 508 Kyrgyz citizens have left to Syria and Iraq to take part in the fighting on the side of the extremists. Most of them have been recruited through the social networks, mobile applications and websites.
