Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover fell 6.3% since beginning of the year
Almaty. November 10. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover has fallen by 6.3% for the first nine months of this year, KyrTAG writes.
“For the period from January to September 2016 the foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan has amounted to $3.8 billion, which is 6.3% lower compared to the same period of last year”, head of the department of consolidated operations and statistical information under the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan Chynara Turdubaeva said at the press conference on Thursday.
Exports of Kyrgyzstan for the last 9 months made $922.6 million and decreased by 9% compared to the same period of 2015.
According to preliminary data, a decline in the exports has been stipulated by a decrease in the supply of tobacco – by 1.8 times, plastics and items made of it – by 2 times, clothing and clothing accessories – by 3.6%, gold – by 14%. At the same time, there was an increase in exports of products from ferrous metals – by 1.7 times, vegetables – by 40.7%, fruits – by 8.4%.
Import in Kyrgyzstan for the first 9 months of this year has amounted to $2 billion 845.5 million, which is a 5.3% decrease compared to the same period of 2015.
Reduction of import revenues is mainly due to reduction in import of meat products by 3.2 times, vehicles – by 1.7 times, pharmaceutical products – by 31.2%. At the same time, the volume of footwear revenues grew by 4.2 times, clothing – by 2.3 times, timber – by 28.7%.
