Almaty. March 30. Silkroadnews – Journalists of Kyrgyzstan have blown a problem of phytosanitary control at the Kyrgyz-Kazakhstani border out of proportion, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic Aimdos Bozzhigitov said, KyrTAG reports.

“In fact there are no problems with phytosanitary control on the Kyrgyz-Kazakhstani border. The local media have blown a problem out and blamed Kazakhstan for this. In the meantime, there was a great job done on this issue, it can be seen from increase in number of types of agricultural products passing through the border. In 2015 14 items of agricultural products were allowed to pass through the border, in 2016 this number increased up to 80”, A. Bozzhigitov said at the briefing on Thursday.

This opinion is also shared by the director of the Eurasian Council on Foreign Relations, Zhanbolat Usenov.
He noted, it has not been a long time since Kyrgyzstan joined the EEU.

“People got used to look for guilty party, and in this case it is convenient to perk a finger in Kazakhstan. Though, in fact, the EEU decisions are taken collectively. Here Kazakhstan acts as a border. We cannot prohibit or cancel anything by our decision”, Zh. Usenov said.
