Almaty. November 15. Silkroadnews – Strategy of Kyrgyzstan’s renewable energy sources development still remains at the declarative level only, president of the small HPP association Elvira Borombaeva says, KyrTAG writes.

“We have the strategies for the development of renewable energy sources. Yet, unfortunately, we have many documents that keep staying at the declarative level. We fall behind in terms of technologies practical implementation and development. This is an issue where close cooperation between the civil society and the state becomes especially important”, she noted.

According to her, the state is missing interaction with the private sector in many fields.

“For example, when working over legislation development, we see lack of awareness, a low level of competence of the state bodies themselves in this sphere”, she added.

“We need “Green Economy” to transform high technologies. Today high technologies result in more efficient processes at the enterprises operating. “Green economy” contributes to development of many of our industries, including the agricultural, industrial, energy sectors, particularly when it comes to renewable energy sources”, E. Borombaeva said.

According to her, the level of renewable energy sources development “in the total generation of electricity does not exceed 1%”, while Kazakhstan, in its long-term policy, plans to bring the level up to 3% by 2020.
