Kyrgyzstan wants to make the road toll for trucks, buses and foreign cars

Almaty. March 17. Silkroadnews - Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan offered to introduce a toll on public roads for the Kyrgyz trucks, buses and vehicles registered in foreign countries, said KyrTAG.
This initiative was voiced at the meeting of the Committee on Transport, Architecture and Construction on Tuesday.
Under the bill, tolls will be payed by the owners of trucks and buses registered in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as vehicles registered in foreign countries, who use roads in Kyrgyzstan.
Thus, the document proposed to introduce a single fee instead of following similar tax payments: fee for the passage of vehicles on artificial structures on public roads, including the Bishkek-Osh road; payment for environmental pollution at the entrance/exit of cargo vehicles of foreign states to/from the territory of KR; entry fee for vehicles of foreign states on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic; the fee for the carriage of goods without special permits by foreign transport companies.
As noted in the document, the toll roads will be the source of replenishment of the road fund.
The following trasnports will be exempt from fee -  vehicles and buses registered in Kyrgyzstan, as well as vehicles registered in foreign countries for transporting goods intended for disaster relief and other emergency situations; vehicles belonging to diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states and international organizations and their branches and representative offices, accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Exempt from paying toll charges vehicles, buses, used for the purposes of defense and law enforcement, Fire Service, medical emergency, and thouse used for the operation and maintenance of roads and road infrastructure.
From paying tolls on public roads are exempt motorcycles, mopeds, as well as tractors and combines, registered in foreign countries.
