Kyrgyzstan will have an opportunity to export electricity this year, the experts say
Almaty. March 24. Silkroadnews – In 2017 Kyrgyzstan will have an opportunity to export electricity to other countries, the Chairman of the State Committee of Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources Duishenbek Zilaliev said, KyrTAG writes.
“This year Kyrgyzstan will have an opportunity to export electricity to neighboring countries”, D. Zilaliev said at the government meeting on Friday.
According to the committee’ forecasts, on April 1, 2017, the water level in Toktogul HPP is projected to amount to 12.7 billion cubic meters, which is 3.8 billion higher compared to the last year.
The State Committee of Industry, Energy and Mineral Resources jointly with JSC “National Holding Company” are working to present the options for electricity exports.
According to D. Zilaliev, in 2016-2017 the committee planned to spend 13 billion kW/h for the passage of the heating season.
“At the moment the regions of Kyrgyzstan have spent 11 billion kW/h of electricity, Jalal-Abad Oblast turned to be the only one which consumption exceed 30.6 million kW/h of the limit approved”, he explained.
