Kyrgyzstan, with its 5 mln citizens, has 6 mln voters

Bishkek. April 15. Silkroadnews –Despite of the fact that Kyrgyzstan has 5 mln citizens, it has 6 mln voters. This was reported by the President’s Chief of Staff, who is heading the working group on electoral system improvements at the Kyrgyz National Council on Sustainable Development working session.
“The voting lists contain names of deceased citizens. Other people hold multiple passports and multiple sets of registration papers, so they vote more than once”, Daniar Narymbayev also added.
According to his words USAID helped Central Electoral Committee to create comprehensive voters data base in 2011.
“This data base is currently modified so that 1 voter means 1 vote”, he explained.
