Meeting to discuss abdication of Japan’s emperor of Japan to be held on December 1

Almaty. November 22. Silkroadnews - The meeting of the special council on the abdication of Emperor Akihito of Japan is scheduled for December 1 of this year, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports with reference to TASS.
The meeting will be held on December 1. Opinions on when the special law should be implemented will be discussed in this meeting, and the government will reflect on the outcomes of the meeting to swiftly decide on the day of implementation, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said in a press conference in Tokyo on Wednesday.
Reportedly, the Imperial House Council will decide on the date of the monarch’s abdication, among the council members there are the heads of both chambers of the parliament, as well as the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Japan.
The top government spokesman also said the timing for the release of the new era name will be considered “by taking into account possible impact on people’s lives.”
NHK television channel says, Akihito could step down and pass the throne to his son, Crown Prince Naruhito on March 31 or April 30, 2019. The financial year in Japan ends on March 31, this would facilitate the required bureaucratic procedures.
