Memorandums to the amount of more than $2 billion was signed between the Chinese companies and Almaty region

Almaty. April 26. Silkroadnews – The Almaty oblast’s official delegation headed by akim Amandyk Batalov visited Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, the press service of the regional akimat reports.

During the visit the Kazakhstani delegation attended a number of leading enterprises in Xinjiang and took part in large business forum.

The delegation visited a sugar factory with capacity of 300 thousand tons of sugar a year, which is a part of the large state-owned corporation, where the parties discussed possible cooperation in the sugar industry; and also got acquainted with operation of the enterprise on furniture production and paid special attention to the power equipment production plant.

“Following the meeting the parties have signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation and began negotiating on possible investment project in the field of renewable energy sources. Another important issue became a metallurgical plant where the delegation participants have been told not only about the enterprise operation, but also about the organization of housekeeping and leisure time of plant’s  employees,” the akimat’s press service informs.

In his turn, A. Batalov presented the Chinese colleagues the region’s current opportunities, having noted the special conditions for cooperation established at the “Horgos” border center on the territory of industrial zones.
Deputy Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Mao Saidihamuza said it shall open new cooperation issues not only in the economy but also in education, science and tourism sectors.

“Following the official visit more than 10 major companies have signed with the Almaty region 12 memorandums totaling more than $2 billion investment. Among these there are projects for the construction of solar and wind power plants, innovative plant for the production of wall panels, Kazakhstani-Chinese agricultural complex, agro-processing of agricultural park and many others,” the press-service said.

In addition, the parties have shared their experience and built the cultural and business ties, outlined the further cooperation points to move, the akimat office concluded.
