Mobile internet users account for 96.3% of total number of internet users in China

Almaty. August 8. Silkroadnews – Mobile internet users account for 96.3% of the total number of internet users in China, People’s Daily wrote.
As of June this year, the total number of mobile internet users in China has reached 724 million, which is 28.3 million more compared to the end of 2016. Among them, 96.3% of users getting access to Internet through their mobile phones compared to 95.1% at the end of 2016, the report said.
With this the number of mobile application users is also reported to grow in H1 2017.
The most popular are applications for ordering food at home. The number of users of these applications reached 274 million, which is 41.4% higher than at the end of 2016. The total number of users of mobile payment applications has reached 502 million people, among them 463 million internet users make payments using mobile phones in offline stores, the publication notes.
It is also reported that for the first half of 2017, applications for business become very popular.
The number of users of applications for shopping, ordering food at home and traveling grew 10.2%, 41.6% and 11.5% respectively. Consumption growth is observed in the online shopping market. Users pay more attention to quality, balanced consumption, as well as consumption of new types of goods.
According to the publication, the number of internet users in China is 20% of the total number of internet users around the world. The Internet penetration rate in the country is 54.3%, which is 4.6% higher than the average level in the world.
