More than 100 children from Kazakhstan arrived in China at a summer camp for the SCO states’ schoolchildren

Almaty. August 24. Silkroadnews – More than 100 children from Kazakhstan arrived in China at a summer camp for the SCO states’ schoolchildren, China Internet Information Center reported.
On Wednesday the Chinese capital welcomed students arrived from Kazakhstan to take part in the summer camp. 124 pupils and 14 teachers of 29 secondary schools of Kazakhstan arrived in China on August 20 to participating in 11-days summer camp in China, the report said.
The Kazakhstani delegation will visit three Chinese cities - Urumqi, Beijing and Harbin, as well as Chinese educational institutions – Xinjiang University, Heilongjiang University and the secondary school number 73 of Harbin city.
Schoolchildren from Kazakhstan will have exchanges with the Chinese youth, see local attractions and get acquainted with the Chinese culture, the publication reads.
According to the agency, China’s Vice Minister of Education Tian Xuejun expressed hope that the visit will allow Kazakhstani youth to learn more about China and Chinese culture, make friends with Chinese youth and learn from each other, thus, giving new energy to two countries’ bilateral relations development.
It is reported that the summer camp is an important event of cooperation in education within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Within five years starting from 2014 China’s Ministry of Education plans to invite schoolchildren from the SCO member states to China’s summer camps. At present China has been visited by children from Tajikistan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
