More than 20% of Kazakhstan’s population are migrants – mass-media

Almaty. February 4. Silkroadnews - More than 20% of Kazakhstan’s population are migrants, reported the British newspaper “The Telegraph”.
“As of 2015 the number of immigrants in Kazakhstan made 3 million 546 thousand 778 people, which is only 0.04% higher than in 2005. According to the preliminary estimations the immigrants make 20.12% of the total population of the country 17 million 625 thousand people,” - the article says on the basis of the UN data published on Thursday.
It is noted that according to the UN the leaders in terms of immigrants’ percentage versus the native population are the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait. By the number of migrants in general the United States, Germany and Russia rank the leading places.
