Almaty. February 11. Silkroadnews - More than 20 thousand foreigners are fighting in the Syrian and Iraqi organizations of IS, reports KazTAG citing the American Internet portal Newsmax.
"The United States and its allies believe that more than 20 thousand foreign fighters from more than 90 countries came to Syria. This was intended to be informed by the director of the National Counterterrorism Center Nick Rasmussen on Wednesday", - said the publication.
According to the publication, more than 3 thousand foreign fighters arrived in Syria from western countries.
It is reported that the flow of foreign fighters is not permanent.
