"The island of Hainan on Sunday was hit by heavy rainfall, as a result 4230 people were evacuated, said the local flood departments on Tuesday", - said in a statement.
The most powerful impact of heavy rains got the city Dongfang where rainfall exceeded 500 mm, reported in the provincial headquarters of flood control and drought.
About 168 thousand residents of Dongfang suffered from bad weather and 4,230 of them have been evacuated. In 18 of the 38 reservoirs the water was over full.
