More than 50 Chinese and Mongolian companies will join the new cross-border economic cooperation zone
Almaty. June 13. Silkroadnews – The cross-border economic cooperation zone between China and Mongolia is built at a quick pace, Xinhua news agency reported.
The officials of Erlian-Hohhot (Inner Mongolia, North China) informed, the cross-border economic cooperation zone is located on the China-Mongolian border; its total area is 18 square km – 9 square km per each side. Part of the zone located on the territory of China belongs to the city of Erlian-Hohhot; another part located in Mongolia belongs to the city Dzamyn-Ude.
This May China and Mongolia signed a general plan of construction for the zone of China-Mongolian cross-border economic cooperation Erlian-Hohhot – Dzamyn-Ude.
By this moment Mongolia has prepared a feasibility study and risk assessment report, the Chinese side, in its turn, developed common and production plans for the cross-border economic cooperation zone and started the construction works.
It is expected that by the end of this year more than 50 Chinese and Mongolian enterprises operating in the processing industry “will move” to the zone built; by this time the customs duties are also expected to be reduced from 6.5% to 0.
