NATO to continue anti-drug operations in southern Afghanistan

Almaty. November 23. Silkroadnews - Four drug laboratories have been destroyed as a result of the new anti-drug operation of the US Air Force in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
To remind, the first operation to abolish drugs production laboratories took place on the night of Monday in the county of Musa Qala. Later, the clearance operations continued, and last night four more drug laboratories were destroyed in the Deshu district.
According to the press service of the province’s governor, the destroyed laboratories were under the control of the Taliban, they have been bombed along with the local base of insurgents. As a result, 15 militants were killed and 5 other injured.
The same night, another clearance operation supported by the United States destroyed the Taliban base in Lashkar Gah, leaving 10 militants killed, including two commanders.
Representatives of the Taliban deny their involvement in Afghan drug production and operation of laboratories in the clearance operations areas. They say civilians only have been killed as a result of the air strikes, “Pazhvok” news agency reported.
