Nazarbayev and Jinping noted need for further development of transport corridors in two countries

Almaty. June 24. Silkroadnews – Within the framework of the SCO summit held in Tashkent President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with President Xi Jinping, press service of the head of the state informs.

“Nursultan Nazarbayev and Xi Jinping discussed a wide range of issues on bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic, investment, energy, transit and transport, cultural and humanitarian fields. The head of the state reviewed the key areas of cooperation between two countries in framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and exchanged views on a number of aspects of the regional and international agenda,” Akorda website wrote on Friday.

During the meeting the sides also highlighted the high potential of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport and communications, emphasizing the complementary nature of “Nurly Zhol” and “the economic belt of the Silk Road” programs. They also discussed a need for further development of transport corridors passing through the territory of two countries.

Nursultan Nazarbayev and Xi Jinping expressed intention to raise the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China, bringing it to the new level. Two leaders also agreed to deepen the long-term partnership in the agro-industrial sector.
