Nazarbayev proposed Karimov to expand the range of Kazakh-Uzbek trade turnover

Astana. November 25. Silkroadnews - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev believes that the range of the Kazakh-Uzbek trade turnover can be extended, KazTAG.
"Last year the figure was more than $2 billion and the first 9 months of this year turnover also comes with a good growth. I think this is the result of our meetings. However, I believe that our two countries have not yet fully exploited the economic potential: product line is very narrow, so the intergovernmental commission, our governments must once again work on, in order to increase the volume of trade",- Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the talks with the President Islam Karimov on Tuesday.
"It is beneficial to both countries:very profitable trade, and we know that there is a bill of goods", - he said.
The President noted that the Kazakh-Uzbek trade turnover, despite the negative trends in the world economy and the decline in prices of basic commodities, continues to grow.
"Our countries have a historical responsibility for the future of our people, for the future of the region and should always carry out a coordinated balanced policy. Uzbekistan is not only a leading state in the region, but also our leading trading partner in Central Asia ", - said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
He also thanked Uzbekistan for supporting the initiative of Kazakhstan for the EXPO-2017, promising Karimov to provide "the best pavilion for our Uzbek friends".
