Nearly 100 people injured in the gas pipeline explosion in China

Almaty. July 5. Silkroadnews – At least 5 people have been left killed and 89 others injured as a result of gas pipeline explosion in Songyuan city in Jilin Province, Xinhua news agency reported.
“At least 5 people were killed and 89 injured in gas pipeline explosion in Songyuan city in Jilin Province. According to the government report, the explosion occurred at around 2.45 p.m. local time on Tuesday. Name of the owner of the gas pipeline was not specified”, the statement said on Wednesday.
Xinhua reported, workers had been repairing a section of the gas pipeline in which a leak was revealed. The explosion had affected the patients and employees of a nearby hospital. Rescue works are under way.
As noted, the explosion in Songyuan city became the second accident on the gas pipeline over the past week. Last Sunday, at least 8 people died in Guizhou Province in explosion of the gas pipeline operated by state-owned oil giant China National Petroleum Corporation.
