Almaty. November 17. Silkroadnews - Nissan Infiniti will start production of new SUV in China next year, Reuters reported.
“Nissan Motor Co’s premium brand Infiniti will start producing next year a new crossover sport-utility vehicle in China, its No.2 market after the United States, using existing manufacturing capacity in the northeastern city of Dalian,” the report said.
The company did not reveal more details on the third Infiniti model, but said the new SUV would be released on the assembly line in Dalian with Nissan SUVs X-Trail and QASHQAI.
The automaker, as expected, will officially announce its plans at the planned press briefing at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
In an effort to raise its sales in China, Infiniti began roducing in 2014 the Q50 sedan and “a long wheel-base version of the same car in the Hubei province city of Xiangyang.”
This October sales of Infiniti in China amounted to 37,977 vehicles, which is up 15% compared to a year ago. In total, during this period, 200,414 vehicles were sold, a 9% growth compared to the last year.
