Silkroadnews - President Barack Obama in a telephone conversation called presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, and Dr. Ashraf Ghani, to take a mutual decision on the division of power as soon as possible to form a new government in the country, reports The Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
According to the White House, a telephone conversation with the President of the United States with two presidential candidates took place in Afghanistan on Saturday.
Obama stressed the importance of the deal for a national unity government as soon as possible in the interests of international support for Afghanistan and maintain stability in the country. He also reiterated the United States' commitment to supporting Afghanistan and the Afghan people.
It is expected that applicants will hold talks on the completion of the electoral process and reaching an agreement on the formation of a national government unity, which was agreed during the visit of Secretary of State John Kerry in Afghanistan in July.
