Operation against the Taliban is being prepared in the south of Afghanistan

Almaty. September 5. Silkroadnews – A joint anti-Taliban operation of Afghan and foreign troops will begin in the southern province of Kandahar in the near future, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The day before this was announced by the provincial police chief, General Abdul Razak.
The operation is being prepared near the border with the province of Helmand, where the anti-government forces are getting more active for the recent time. According to government security forces, at present the Taliban pose a serious threat to the security of the Maiwand and Ghorak counties in Kandahar, as well as to Sangin and Nari Suraj in Helmand.
According to media, local population is concerned with anti-government groups, including those involved in the drug business, trying to expand their activities to other parts of Kandahar province.
In his turn, in a recent speech, General Abdul Razak expressed his confidence that the forthcoming operation will help to cope with the threat and stabilize the situation on the ground.
We are working together and developing an action plan, provincial police chief said during his visit to Maiwand. He assured people of Helmand and Kandahar the government forces will clear the areas of the rebel forces.
It is worth noting, within the framework of the new U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, it was stated that the U.S. troops will no longer announce in advance their military operations, as it is, in fact, a warning to the enemy.
