Over 12% of Kyrgyz girls married before they reach 18

Bishkek. April 22. Silkroadnews - Over 12% of Kyrgyz girls married before they reach 18, as Nazgul Beisheva, who heads the Department of Gender Policy of the Ministry of Social Development, said at the national consultations on implementation of “Beijing+20” action platform and declaration.
This number is even higher for rural areas, in rural areas it reaches 14%.
