Over 20 documents to be signed at SCO summit in Qingdao this June

Beijing. May 16. Silkroadnews - The upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of heads of the governments to be held in early June will result in adoption of the Qingdao Declaration and a number of important documents, the SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov said.
17 documents are expected to be adopted by the heads of the governments, and another eight documents are expected to be signed in their presence. In total, if everything goes well, there will be nearly 20-25 documents signed on the summit results, the agency cited him saying.
Some of the documents are still under consideration, R. Alimov noted.
According to him, among the agreed documents there is a new one - memorandum of cooperation with UNESCO. Simultaneously, the work is being carried out with the World Tourism Organization, and a memorandum on cooperation in tourism is expected to be considered as well.
R.Alimov also reminded, the Qingdao declaration is one of the key documents of the summit stating the SCO members’ consensus position on еhe development of the situation in the region. Another important document, which the SCO states plan to approve at the coming summit, is a message to the young people.
Among the drafts under process there is also the SCO joint convention on environmental protection.
