Over USD 3 bln 44 mln transferred from Russia to Tajikistan over 9 month period last year

Dushanbe. April 4. Silkroadnews – Over 3 bln 44 mln were transferred from Russia to Tajikistan over the 9 months period via money transfer systems last year, as Russian Central Bank reports. The average transfer amount is USD 355.
This is an increase compared to USD 2 bln 605.1 mln transferred from Russia to Tajikistan during the corresponding 2012 period.
Tajikistan is second in CIS by the amount of money transferred. It comes second only to Uzbekistan, which transferred USD 4 bln 908.5 mln from Russia over the 9 months period. Money transfers from Russia constitute around 50% of Tajikistan’s GDP.
