Pakistan allowed for registered Afghan refugees to stay in the country until the end of 2017

Almaty. 10 September. Silkroadnews - Pakistan allowed for registered Afghan refugees until the end of 2017 to stay in the country, reports Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) with reference to the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Indrika Ratvatt.
She also reported that the Pakistani authorities have informed the Afghan side and the UNHCR on pending a decision by the Cabinet to extend the registration card.
At a meeting with the Governor of Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, I.Ratvatt reported that at the Kabul meeting, Pakistani officials said they will make every effort to avoid any delay in the registration status of Afghan refugees after the term card expires at the end of 2015.
According to her, Afghan refugees are actually contributing to economic development in the region. According I.Ratvatt currently 290,000 Afghan refugees living in the province of Baluchistan.
