Parliamentary elections in Tajikistan declared valid
Almaty. March 2. Silkroadnews - Parliamentary elections in Tajikistan are declared valid, reports Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
In accordance with the legislation of Tajikistan, the election results will be announced within 10 days.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, informed that by 13.00 Astana time in Kazakhstan voted more than 50% of residents from Tajikistan.
Recall, Tajikistan organized 3209 polling stations. In addition, 35 polling stations were set up in 27 countries around the world.
The lower house of the parliament elected 63 deputies: 41 - from single-mandate constituencies and 22 from a single republican constituency on the list of political parties.
The elections were observed by 525 international observers, 175 of them from the CIS countries, 167 - from the OSCE/ODIHR and other international organizations. The election were covered by more than 320 representatives of local and foreign media. Evaluation of the CIS mission observers for the parliamentary elections in Tajikistan will be released on March 2 at 12.00.
The interim report of the mission of CIS observers noted that this list accounts for: the Agrarian Party of Tajikistan - 13 candidates, the Democratic Party of Tajikistan - 4; the Party of economic reforms in Tajikistan - 6; the Communist Party of Tajikistan - 7; the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan - 27; Socialist Party of Tajikistan - 6; the Social Democratic Party of Tajikistan - 13; the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan - 27 candidates.
Thus, for the 22 parliamentary seats, the Central Commission registered 103 candidates, one was denied registration, another 19 withdrew their candidacies.
Elections for the upper house of the Tajik parliament (the National Assembly) is scheduled for March 27.
