Pentagon’s 2018 budget proposed to increase to $639 billion

Almaty. May 23. Silkroadnews – Administration of US President Donald Trump proposed the Congress to increase spending for the Pentagon’s budget by $52 billion raising it up to $639 billion, TASS wrote.
According to data by the reference documents to 2018 draft federal budget the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released on Monday evening, the coming year it is proposed to increase military spending by $54 billion, which is a 10% growth compared to the current level, up to $668 billion. Pentagon is not the only source of funding for the US military programs.
The OMB experts explain, their proposals provide for ending of military budget sequestering started under Obama’s democratic administration. Now the White House proposes “to invest $6.7 trillion to restore America’s military power to protect the country’s interests both at home and abroad” within the next 10 years. This refers to the total volume of military expenditures for 2018-2027.
According to the documents, the new request, in particular, provides for an increase in the personnel of the US armed forces by 56 400 people in 2018 versus the number planned by Obama’s administration at the time of its termination. The plans also include financing buying 84 combat aircraft, including 70 F-35 multi-role fighters, and 8 warships.
