Astana. January 20. Silkroadnews - a period of low oil prices could last more than two years, reports KyrTAG with reference to the chief researcher at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KISS) under the President of Kazakhstan, Vyacheslav Dodonov.
According to him, Kazakhstan threat of prolonged low oil prices has negative consequences on the entire range of macroeconomic indicators.
According to V. Dodonov, "measures to counter this negativity include stimulating the economy and the need for budgetary savings".
"This is something that should replace the shortfall in external growth factors. And plus, it's the need for budgetary savings.. Both of these tools will be applied. How hard - it will depend on where we will see oil prices during the year",- he said, predicting the average oil price in 2015 at $50 / bbl.
