President of Afghanistan to take part in the meeting of the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of the States

Almaty. March 7. Silkroadnews – President Nursultan Nazarbayev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, press service of the president of Kazakhstan reported.

“During the conversation the parties discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the agreements reached on the results of the official visit of the President of Afghanistan to Kazakhstan in November 2015. In particular, there has been a significant growth in mutual trade turnover reached over the recent years between the states”, Akorda site informed.

The parties also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, taking into account the fact that Kazakhstan, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, chairs the committee on Afghanistan.

The President of Afghanistan confirmed his participation in the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of the Member States and the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Science and Technology, which will be held in Astana this year.

The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the Afghan side.
