President of Belarus plans to visit Iran

Almaty. February 18. Silkroadnews - President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is going to visit Iran to enhance bilateral economic ties, reports the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
"During a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Belarusian leader pointed to a fairly high level of political cooperation between the two countries, but noted that the existing state of affairs in relations between Belarus and Iran in the economic sphere leaves to desired much. In this regard, the President stressed that during his upcoming visit to Tehran he will make every efforts for the development of bilateral economic relations",- says the publication.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that to date, the total amount of Iranian investments in the Belarusian economy is about $600 million. He expressed interest of Minsk in further building mutually beneficial cooperation with the Islamic Republic in this direction.
In turn, the head of the Iranian Foreign Minister conveyed to President of Belarus congratulatory message from the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
The minister also confirmed the interest of the Iranian side in broadening and deepening the trade and economic ties with the Republic of Belarus.
