President of Tajikistan and UN Secretary General discussed issues of bilateral cooperation

Beijing. June 20. Silkroadnews - The issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations have been discussed at the meeting between the head of the Republic of Tajikistan and the head of an international organization, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Wednesday.
Within the framework of the International Decade for Action: Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028 conference Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon met with UN Under-Secretary-General Liu Zhenmin. During the meeting they discussed the issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the UN and its structural subdivisions, the press service of the head of the state reported.
The parties duly appreciated the role of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs in realization of Tajikistan’s international water initiatives.
Projects on the International Decade for Action: Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028, Sustainable Development Goals on water resources, 2030 National Development Strategy and 2020 Medium-Term Development Program initiatives are also expected to be implemented in cooperation with the UN department.
The parties discussed issues of achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, cooperation in attracting investments and modern technologies, developing infrastructure, establishing effective regulations for transit transportation, and simplifying trade rules.
