President of Uzbekistan reported on achievement of 100% coverage of digital television over country

Almaty. 10 January. Silkroadnews - The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev declared the achievement of 100% coverage of digital television over country, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.
The statement was made at the meeting on January 9 devoted to consider the effectiveness of measures to develop information and communication technologies and ensure information security in Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, over the past year digital TV coverage in the country has increased from 88% to 100%. The number of mobile users increased 7 percent and reached 22.8 million. In 2017, IT services were provided for 7.7 trillion som, which is 26% higher than in 2016. 260 million dollars have been allocated for this within the framework of the Investment Program.
The meeting’s agenda, along with discussion of the results achieved, also included the short-term and long-term priorities for 2018.
