Prices for gasoline jumped in Uzbekistan

Almaty. November 15. Silkroadnews - Gasoline prices have risen sharply from 35.7% to 72.6% depending on fuel brand in Uzbekistan since November 15, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.
In particular, the cost of a liter of AI-80 gasoline increased from 2.8 thousand to 3.8 thousand som (+35.7%), AI-91 - from 3 thousand to 4.3 thousand som (+43,3%), while diesel fuel price jumped to 4,1 thousand (+72,6%) and diesel fuel ECO - up to 4,2 thousand (+71%). The new prices have been approved by the government resolution “On additional measures for timely provision of fuel and energy resources” dated November 14.
The document states that high-octane gasoline (AI-92 and above), diesel fuel corresponding to European quality and standards, imported and produced after processing of imported (giveaway) raw materials, are to be sold at free commercial prices through gas stations. Moreover, the list of the gas stations will be determined by the government of Uzbekistan.
According to “Sputnik Uzbekistan” referring to a source in “Uzbekftegaz” company, such a decision was taken due to fuel shortage and need to remove speculators from the market.
