Almaty. October 23. Silkroadnews - Private sector plays a key role in boosting Iranian-Iraqi economic ties, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IRTAG) reports with reference to the Islamic Republic News Agency.
“Iran’s private sector activities in Iraq should be expanded in order to boost the economic relations between the two countries, the Iranian envoy to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi said. In a meeting to explore weak and strong points of the two countries' economic relations urged officials of Iran's private sector to boost the sectors' activities so that they can survive the competition with rivals,” the report said.
In turn, the advisor to Iran’s first vice-president Saeid Ohadi, who is also the head of the committee for boosting Iranian-Iraqi economic relations, noted that the significant presence of Iranian companies at the international exhibition in Iraq this year is a sign of raising economic activity of the embassy.
According to the publication, on Saturday the Iraqi capital city hosted the 44th Baghdad International Fair with the participation of 350 companies from 14 countries, including Iran.
