Problems of employment, winter energy shortage and climate change still remain a live issue for Tajikistan

Almaty. June 21. Silkroadnews – A number of social problems along with creation of new jobs, energy shortage in winter and climate change still remain live issues for Tajikistan, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Tuesday.

“Despite the measures the government has undertaken on the social and economic development, a number of problems including creation of new jobs for the growing number of population, continuing shortage of electricity in winter, climate change and need for improvement in quality of food and education for young people still remain live issues for the Republic of Tajikistan. For the next 15 years the country shall proceed with the efforts to improve the social and economic development and diversification and competitiveness,” noted the participants of the meeting of the National Council for the Development of Tajikistan chaired by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.  

With this it is emphasized that the partners in development reaffirm their readiness to continue to support the Republic of Tajikistan in the medium-term development strategy for 2016-2020 and new strategy for 2016-2030.
The council has also considered the completion of 2015 national strategy development implementation and programs aimed to improve the well-being of the population of Tajikistan for 2013-2015.
