Tehran. September 22. Silkroadnews - Prosecutor General of Iran requires blocking popular messengers in the country, reports IrTAG.
"As it became known, in an official letter sent to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Mahmoud Voezi on Saturday, the Prosecutor General of the country Gulamhusseyn Muhsin Ezhai required to block in the Republic access to Viber, Tango and WhatsApp in one month", - says the publication.
As noted, the Prosecutor General referred to the appropriate disposal of the head of the judiciary, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, according to which these mobile applications are used to distribute "offensive material" and "incriminating information from hostile Iranian government states".
"The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Iran should block access to these programs in one month. Otherwise, the judiciary will take the necessary measures", - the letter says.
