Beijing. June 25. Silkroadnews - On Sunday, participants in the Helmand peace support movement started a sit-in demonstration in Kabul, breaking a protest camp near the UN Assistance Mission for Afghanistan (UNAMA), the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The move followed after the Taliban ignored the activists’ call to join the peace talks with the government of Afghanistan.
Reportedly, in 38 days the movement participants have covered a distance from Lashkargah to Kabul across territories of 6 provinces to once again call the government of the country and Taliban to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
The protesters for peace said they would continue the actions until the establishment of peace in the country. In particular, they intend to organize sit-ins at the embassies of foreign countries - the United States, Britain, Russia, Iran and Pakistan.
