Railroad Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran will be opened in December

Astana. November 12. Silkroadnews - Railroad Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran will be opened in December 2014, reports KazTAG referring to the Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, Asset Issekeshev.
"In December, the Heads of State will run the railroad through Turkmenistan and Iran with access to the Middle East", - said A.Isekeshev at the first international conference on Eurasian transport integration in Astana on Wednesday.
The route opens the possibility for handling 10 million tonnes of cargo. The upcoming commissioning of branches from Zhanaozen-Kyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan will expand trade and economic cooperation of Kazakhstan with the Gulf countries, South and Southeast Asia, and Africa.
Agreement on the highway was layed by heads of the three states signed in 2007. Construction work started in 2009. The Kazakh side part of the path was fully completed in November 2011.
