Beijing. January 30. Silkroadnews - Rich Chinese show growing optimism about the economic situation, the Global Times reports.
“More than 90 percent of rich Chinese are optimistic about the country’s future economic development, a survey by Hurun has shown,” the report said.
The survey involved 463 people, each with personal assets worth more than 10 million yuan ($1.57 million).
About 94% of respondents are optimistic about the prospects for the Chinese economy in the next two years, which is a 3% growth compared to the previous year.
Among them, almost a half shows strong optimism about the Chinese economy, compared with 28% in 2017.
Researchers attribute the dynamics to the growing confidence to China’s stronger-than-expected GDP growth in 2017 and the results of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party held in October.
About 58% of non-immigrants respondents stated they are not interested in emigration to other countries, which is the highest rate ever surveyed.
The survey also showed that real estate remains the main investment preference for wealthy Chinese.
Tourism remains a favorite recreation for rich citizens, with the Maldives being the most popular travel destination abroad, and Sanya – within the country.
