Almaty. January 9. Silkroadnews - Rouhani called for diversification of Iran’s exports, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported referring to Tasnim News Agency.
“Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for efforts to reduce the country’s economic vulnerability by diversifying the export of non-oil goods,” the report said.
Rouhani warned of the risk of focusing on the export of one product, saying the diversification of exports would reduce the vulnerability of the economy.
He also praised the exporters for creating trust in Iranian brands, stressing the need to maintain product quality to ensure the country’s position in the international markets. The President has also assigned the Ministry of Industry, the Central Bank of Iran and the Ministry of Economy to develop plans that would allow non-oil producers in the state-owned and private sectors to directly export their products and get paid directly as well.
In October 2017, First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said, the annual export of oil from Iran made $47 billion, hoping that in the coming years it would reach $100 billion.
Non-oil exports and tourism industry were the main sectors to which President Rouhani paid attention during his second election campaign to create jobs for the country’s young workforce.
