Almaty. May 30. Silkroadnews – Russia and China are working to develop an expediting railway route through Russia to the Western Europe, in particular, Luxembourg and Copenhagen, the first deputy governor of the Kaluga region Alexei Laptev informs, TASS reported.

He stated, the companies located in the Kaluga region turned to be customers of a large number of products made in China, it served as a driver to search for the ways to expedite the Chinese products’ delivery to the central part of Russia. As a result, the logistics center was established in the Kaluga region located at the intersection of railway routes.

“Due to participation of “Samsung” company, the port of Dalian and the Chinese government, it became possible to reduce the delivery terms of goods from China to central Russia and further to Europe three times.

This is a new “silk road” laying from the Dalian port through Manchuria to Zabaikalsk and then along the Trans-Siberian railway to the station Vorsino in the Kaluga region,” he said, noting that now the goods are delivered from China in 9.5 days.

“At present these trains serve regularly and we are working intensively to extend this route to Luxembourg, Rotterdam and some ports of Western Europe,” the first deputy governor said.
