Russia and China to involve 11 ships and 2 submarines in the second stage of “Sea Interaction” exercise

Almaty. September 18. Silkroadnews – Russia and China will involve 11 ships and 2 submarines in the second stage of “Sea Interaction” exercises, Russian news agency “TASS” reported.
In the second stage of the exercises “Sea Interaction – 2017” beginning in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk on Monday Russia’s Navy together with Naval Forces of China involve 11 surface ships and 2 submarines, the report says quoting the spokesperson of the Pacific Fleet information office Vladimir Matveyev.
It is noted that the Russian Navy will be represented by big anti-submarine ship “Admiral Tributs”, newest corvette “Perfect” and rescue boat “Igor Belousov” with saving AS-40 deep-sea submersible onboard. The rocket boat R-11 will also take part in the maneuvers, and The Sovetskaya Gavan anti-submarine corvette, two diesel electric submarines, the Victor Faleev survey vessel and the sea MB-93 tow will provide the exercises.
The Chinese fleet will be represented by the destroyer “Shi Jiazhuang”, the Da Qing patrol ship, the ship of complex supply “Dong Pinkhu”, the rescue boat of the project 926 “Changdao” with the saving Elar-7 deep-sea submersible.
According to the agency, the exercises are carried out to work interaction of the fleet and aviation.
During a sea phase of the exercises the naval forces will work interaction with aircraft, involving two Il-38 aircraft, two Tu-142M3 aircraft, Ka-27PS helicopter and Ka-27 helicopter of sea aircraft from Russia’s side, and ship Z-9C helicopters and Z-9d – from China’s side, the publication said.
The second stage of “Sea Interaction - 2017” will be held from September 18 to September 26 on the basis of the Pacific Fleet. The coastal phase will be held in Vladivostok from September 18 to September 21, during which training will be conducted for marines of Russia and China at the Gornostai training ground. The naval part of the exercises is scheduled for September 22-26 in the waters of the Japanese and the southern part of the Sea of Okhotsk. The first stage of the exercise took place in the Baltic Sea in July.
