Russia and Iran agreed on military cooperation

Almaty. January 20. Silkroadnews - Russia and Iran signed an intergovernmental agreement on military cooperation, reported Russian media.
"Document was signed by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who paid an official visit to Tehran, and the Minister of Defence and Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Hossein Dehkan", - says the publication.
According to Shoigu, "a significant step in the strengthening of these relations was the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on military cooperation. Established the theoretical basis of cooperation in the military field".
He said that during the negotiations it was agreed that the "two-way interaction was a great practical relevance, that helped to improve the combat capability of the armed forces of the two countries".
On the proposal of the Russian side were also discussed humanitarian demining.
